About Sentinel South.

We're a security-first managed IT and compliance partner built for law firms, accounting practices, and medical offices that need enterprise-grade protection without enterprise overhead.

01Who We Are

Hands-on IT expertise, built for your industry.

Sentinel South Inc is led by Jordan Sculnick, a hands-on systems engineer with 20+ years of experience across small business IT, multi-location environments, and MSP-level support. We're not a help desk call center — we're a focused, documentation-driven engineering practice that treats your IT environment like infrastructure, not a ticket queue.

We're headquartered in Birmingham, Alabama and serve clients across New York, Pennsylvania, and the greater Southeast — with remote support nationwide. Sentinel South carries professional liability (E&O) and cyber liability insurance, and we're happy to provide certificates of insurance during the vendor review process.

Onsite work in each market is delivered by engineers physically based there. The Scranton/Wilkes-Barre corridor is covered by our Northeastern Pennsylvania-based engineer; the New York metro is supported through a mix of scheduled onsite visits and remote engineering. Birmingham work is handled directly out of our Alabama office.

03Our Technology Stack

Enterprise capabilities. SMB pricing.

We don't use cheap tools and hope for the best. Our stack is built around enterprise-grade platforms with 24/7 SOC backing, centralized monitoring, and the operational controls that large MSPs rely on — deployed and managed for your scale.

04How We Work

What makes us different.

i.

Security first, always

Security isn't a bolt-on service we upsell after onboarding. It's baked into every config, every policy, and every support interaction from day one.

ii.

Documentation-driven

We document everything. Your environment shouldn't depend on one person's memory — and our support shouldn't either. Clean docs mean fast support.

iii.

Proactive, not reactive

We patch, monitor, alert, and fix before things break. A quiet IT environment isn't luck — it's the result of consistent preventive work.

iv.

Compliance-aware

We understand the specific regulatory environments our clients operate in — IRS Pub 4557 for accountants, attorney data ethics, HIPAA-aligned controls for healthcare.

v.

Transparent billing

Flat monthly plans with defined scope. Clear invoices. No mystery charges or surprise overages. You always know what you're paying for.

vi.

Real communication

Plain English, fast responses, no jargon. We treat your staff like adults and explain what we did and why — not just that we "fixed it."

05The Difference

What sets us apart.

i.

We specialize in your vertical

Most MSPs serve everyone from landscapers to law firms with the same playbook. We focus on professional services — law, accounting, and medical — where a data breach isn't just an IT problem, it's a regulatory event and a client trust crisis.

ii.

Security is the foundation, not an add-on

Our entire stack is built security-first — managed EDR with 24/7 SOC backing, M365 identity protection, hardened baselines, and MFA enforcement from day one. The first thing we do when we onboard a client is find what's exposed.

iii.

Documentation you can actually use

We document your environment comprehensively — network topology, credentials vault, device inventory, configurations. Most MSPs treat documentation as internal notes. We treat it as a client deliverable.

iv.

Compliance is built in, not bolted on

IRS Pub 4557 WISPs, attorney data ethics obligations, HIPAA-aligned controls — baked into how we scope, price, and deliver our Compliance tier from day one, not figured out when a client asks.

v.

20+ years of real hands-on experience

Not a recently incorporated MSP with junior techs following runbooks. When you have a complex problem, you get someone who's seen it before.

06Good Fit

Who we work best with.

We're not the right fit for every organization. We work with firms ranging from solo practitioners to 100-user offices — small enough that you'll talk to the people who actually do the work, established enough that we'll hold you to a real security baseline regardless of size.

Law Firms

Solo practitioners to 100-attorney firms

Firms that handle confidential client matters and understand that their IT is a risk vector — and want a partner who takes that as seriously as they do.

CPA / Accounting

Tax and accounting practices

Firms that need IRS Pub 4557 compliance and want technical controls that actually match the WISP they're required to have — not just a document.

Healthcare

Medical and dental offices

Small practices handling PHI that need HIPAA-aligned IT controls and a vendor who understands the stakes without charging hospital-system rates.

Professional Services

Any M365-reliant SMB

Organizations on Microsoft 365 that want to move from break-fix chaos to a predictable, well-documented, security-first managed environment.

We're probably not the right fit if…You're shopping on price alone, with no interest in security · You want an IT provider who just fixes things when they break and doesn't ask questions about your security posture.
On Google Workspace? We can support you day-to-day — but we'll be upfront: our security and compliance stack is built around Microsoft 365, and that's where we can deliver the strongest posture for regulated firms (managed device compliance, conditional access, DLP, identity threat detection). If you're open to it, we'll walk you through what a migration actually looks like — most firms are surprised how uneventful it is. If you're committed to Workspace long-term, we'll tell you honestly on the first call whether we're the right partner.
